Description:
William Osler examining human organs at the Blockley Mortuary in Philadelphia. Osler was a pathologist at Blockley Hospital (also known as Philadelphia General Hopsital) from 1885 to 1889. He was also Chair of Clinical Medicine at the University of Philadelphia from 1884 to 1889. The back of the photograph contains an example of Osler's handwriting (with the phrase, "Finishing his work!").
