The William Osler Papers

Title:
[William Osler in his library-consulting room]
(normal size jpg)

(high resolution jpg) High resolution version (4,707,884 Bytes)

Description:
Photo was taken by painter Thomas Cromwell Corner, in preparation for Corner's portrait of Osler. The portrait was completed during Osler's last days in Baltimore, before his move to England and Oxford University. He was thoroughly bored by the painters during his last busy (and persecuted) months in Baltimore--hence, perhaps, the strangely aggressive appearance.
