The Glucagon-Sensitive Adenyl Cyclase System in Plasma Membranes of Rat Liver: II. Comparison Between Glucagon- and Fluoride-Stimulated Activities
Description:
The second in a now-classic series of five articles in which Rodbell concluded that GTP was likely the active biological factor in separating glucagon from the cell's receptor, which had important implications for the treatment of various disorders and diseases. In this article, he suggested that glucagon and inorganic fluoride activate the enzyme adenyl cyclase, an important component of some intracellular signaling pathways, by different mechanisms and possibly through different molecular entities, which indicated more than one mode of signal transduction.
