Dear Jerry:
It was good to speak to you on the phone and I am happy to hear that things are progressing well. I am enclosing a photostat of Dr. John Lille's science article where the wave form is shown. This might be more convenient for you than taking the article out of the library.
Don't forget that this wave form is designed for stimulating nerves, but on speaking to Dr. Lille recently, he thought that this would also be the best wave form for stimulating muscle as well. However, you will probably need more voltage than depicted here and as per our conversations, if you have an instrument with which we can select the output up to 2 1/2 or 3 volts, this should be more than sufficient.
As far as Irving Wolff's investigations with electrode material, I have again discussed this with Dr. Lille and he feels that platinum, silver and gold are less desirable than Type 316 stainless steel. We have obtained some stainless steel of the correct description and diameter, and are in the process of constructing electrodes. I'll let you know how this proceeds.
Please give my regards to the whole group and I will be in touch with again soon.
Adrian Kantrowitz, M.D.
