A very short one just to tell you that I'm still alive and loving you, - but oh so tired. For seven days now we've
been going hard at it, 12 to 16 hours a day. What a grind! "Casualties are lighter than expected" -- except for those
who are hurt. Four long and very interesting cases, - peripheral injuries, - in the past 24 hours. Prolonged & major dissections,
with tricky vascular complications. But so fatiguing. We stumble from O.R. to mess tent, back to O.R., to wards, to O.R.,
to bed, to O.R., etc. Haven't had a nose out of the place in the past 6 days. I'd hate to tell you how many cases
went through our O.R. in the past 6 days.
Still stuck with this same old Evac., wishing all the while we were back with our old friends at the F. Hosp. Looks as if
we'll carry the torch for a while longer, anyway.
