Redefining the Federal Role in Public Health, Medical Research, and Education, 1949-1960

January 20, 1951
I've been away from the office with a slight attack of grippe and found your letter of January 4th upon my return.
It was good to hear from you and I certainly hope that you will give us the benefit of your comments and advice in the days
ahead. We hope to carry on the great work which you started and I know that separation from Washington could never cause
you to lose interest in that work.
I'd like to extend to you once more my own heartfelt thanks for the help which you gave me without which I should have
been unable to advance along the course charted by you years ago.
