Beyond the Clinic: Genetic Studies of the Amish and Little People, 1960-1980s
September 4, 1968
Dear Dr. McKusick:
We were glad to hear from you in connection with TIME's August 2 story "The Little People," which we hope may
contribute somewhat to lay understanding of dwarfism. You can appreciate the fact that, because of our limited space, we were
unable to include the names of all those who worked with you on this project. And although we recognize the tremendous importance
of financial backing in work of this nature, TIME's editors preferred to focus on the purely medical rather than philanthropic
aspects of the research being done at Johns Hopkins.
Once again, thank you for writing, and for your valuable contributions to the preparation of the story.
