Many thanks for introducing me to the activities of the ABCC. Although I have yet to talk to David Botstein or others, it
has occurred to me that some thought might be given to making lambda phage libraries of DNA from the F1s. This requires only
1-10 mg. of DNA to provide an infinite supply of a more or less random and complete representation of a genome that can be
used at any point for detailed exploration of mapped and/or sequenced regions. Obviously an active collaborator would be
necessary but I expect an agency like NIH could help you to find one. I believe 10 or 20 libraries from F1's at greatest
risk (plus from parents when available) would be extremely useful in the long run. I also hope you will attempt to have some
solid tumors preserved in nitrogen.
