Dear Dr. McConnell:
I shall be sending you the digest of 32P SV40 DNA you requested. It took a while to prepare a new batch of DNA.
In regard to nomenclature, Arthur Landy has grouped fragments of similar size by letters (A, B, C . . .) and then called them
A1, A2, etc. within each cluster. I also use this designation for SV40 variant fragments of intermediate size (see Virology
54, 384, 1973).
I shall be in Europe at the end of May and may be able to take you up on your kind invitation to visit you in Dublin.
