I had the privilege of being in the conference room the day you spoke to members of the Family Research Group this past September.
Unfortunately, I had to slip out early and didn't get to meet you personally. You might recall, however, that I asked
what you expected from your confirmation hearings and what we could do to support you.
My purpose in writing today is merely one of encouragement and prayerful support. I know you have been the target of a vicious
attack this past year, and am deeply appreciative of your willingness to take this abuse on behalf of those who agree with
your moral stance. I certainly count myself in that number of professionals who stand with you on the abortion issue and other
matters of right and wrong.
It would be a pleasure to meet you during an upcoming visit to Washington. As you may know, I have asked to see the President,
but instead have been invited to meet with some White House staff members. This may occur in February. If so, perhaps we
could share a cup of coffee then.
God bless you, and don't hesitate to call me if I can be of help,
