Dear Senator Tower:
Enclosed is a copy of a statement which I presented to a committee hearing in connection with the nomination of Dr. C. Everett Koop as Surgeon General of the United States.
As a disabled individual and a person who has been involved in disability-related activities over the years, I believe that Dr. Koop would be able to make positive contributions to the quality of the lives of disabled Americans. I hope that you will consider this factor as you participate in the vote on his nomination.
I would emphasize that speak here as an individual, and not for any organization with which I might be affiliated.
I continue to be grateful for your support of the disabled community.
Yours for a barrier free society.
Justin W. Dart, Jr.
