Dear Mary,
It's a glorious day and the whole staff is going to the Cosmopolitan Club to a reception by the Flexners. This is the time of the Annual Meeting and it seems that there is always some celebration. We have just made a survey of our animals and so far the experiment is all to the good.
Yesterday Dr. White was here and spent the day. We had a fine time and I am to stay with the Whites when I go to Washington for the National Academy.
To-night I go to Dr. Rous for dinner after the Flexners tea. Then to-morrow I am to go to Brooklyn with Helen Harrington to dinner at a friend's house when we shall meet Edith Jackson. Sunday I am going over on Long Island to see an old Hopkins nurse who is dying of pernicious anaemia.
Doans father came to dinner last night and we went to Pinnafore. It seemed very simple and old fashioned. All the airs were familiar.
Didn't get my air mail letter off this week end but will send one along some day.
With love,
Hope that essay thing is all right
