In this letter to her sister Mary, Sabin tells about her birthday presents, the new quarters at work, and her anxiety about
meeting with some reporters about her Pictorial Review award. She also asks what her financial advisor (Henry Swan) thinks
about the recent stock market crash.

All kinds of wonderful things have been coming my way; the Beethoven looks like a wonder I started it last night and found
it fine. Shall enjoy it very much. I have just finished the Elizabeth by Miss Anthony which is the most satisfactory biography
I have read in a long time. I will send it on as soon as the Doans have read it. The bloomers are fine and a card from Bellamy
indicates that an engagement callender is one the way. Quite a wonderful birthday. I was about to write not to send me anything
but enjoy all my gifts a lot.
I think that I had better stay by date of the 25 for I don't like to plan to get off early too soon in the year. We have
not the slightest idea how our work is going so early.
We are all very happy in our new quarters; you remember that we had more restricted space and I wanted another room. All
of a sudden Dr. Flexner gave me every thing I wanted. I think that he did not last spring because other departments were
cramped while the new building is still unfinished. Well in a week we shall all be settled. Also by the end of this week
we shall be thru with our long list of papers and then it will be fun just to get to work.
The announcement of the Pictorial Review award will be given to the papers on November the 15, so I think it will be in the
papers on the 16th then the award will come sometime early in December. On the 15th I shall have to meet a lot of reporters
which I shall dread very much indeed, just imagine a whole room full of them I shall be as scared as if I were in Court.
What does Henry think of the Stock Exchange. Does he think its any thing but a temporary affair.
Where are you going to keep your car?
I am glad that you liked the candy. I think that it's lots of fun to get something wholly unexpectedly, don't you.
