My dear Mary:
I am just in receipt of your letter of the 11th with enclosures and the correspondence with Lyndon Johnson.
I deeply appreciate your letter and your kindness in sending me the copies of the correspondence. You are always the wonderful friend.
I am sending you a brochure on me which I did not compile, but which was compiled by the League of Women Voters as a tribute to me.
I might add that Senator Mansfield, Senator Yarborough, Senator Jennings Randolph, Senator Ervin of North Carolina, Senator Sparkman, and a number of other members of Congress, attended the dinner.
I want to again say that you stand at the forefront of Florence Nightingale, Clara Barton, Madame Curie and Helen Taussig in your wonderful contributions to the health of our people and to the health of all mankind. Surely we must ever be grateful to you, and I am most proud of your friendship.
Henrietta joins me in sending you our affectionate regards, and we do hope we may have the pleasure of seeing you before very long.
Affectionately,
Lister Hill
