I am in receipt of your letter of the 19th, with enclosure of the memorandum on Fifty Centers for Advanced Studies. I want
to thank you for same.
Mike Gorman and I spent some two hours together on yesterday working on the legislation to carry out the Commission's
recommendations on Heart, Cancer and Strokes. We are endeavoring to expedite this legislation, and we will certainly give
our attention to legislation for the Fifty Centers for Advanced Studies.
I want to take this opportunity to tell you how much I enjoyed seeing you last week, and I want to again thank you and express
to you my deep appreciation for
the fine Joseph Lister letter which you so kindly and generously brought me. I shall always treasure it and the thoughts
of your sweet friendship.
