I am sorry that I had to be in Washington so much of the time during the meetings of the Committee for National Health Insurance,
but I was trying to do what I could to prevent some of the cuts in medical research funds.
I do want to send you the enclosed contribution toward the Committee's work. I think you are doing a marvelous job and
that we will surely get some new legislation with you working on it.
With gratitude and all warmest wishes,
P.S. I hope you are coming to the November 11th dinner which Mr. and Mrs. William Blair and I are giving in Washington at
the Blairs' home in honor of Dr. and Mrs. Egeberg. Secretary Finch and Mrs. Finch will also be there, and it will be a
good opportunity to see if we can't make some progress. At least, we will find out where they stand!
