Dear Mrs. Lasker:
This is just a note to again tell you how much I appreciated the help you gave me in my campaign for the Governorship.
Naturally, all of us are delighted at the results here in Connecticut as well as nationally.
Many people here in the State felt very sure that we would win, but right down to the last minute I was one of those who was least optimistic. But if I was surprised at the state results, I'll admit that I was astounded by what happened nationally. It's a remarkable personal achievement for Mr. Truman and it gives not only the country but the world an opportunity to accomplish great things in the next few years.
Again, from the bottom of my heart, let me thank you for your support and help.
With warmest personal regards.
Sincerely,
Chet
