Dear Mr. Secretary:
I am in California with Terry Lierman and we both have been reading how well your hearing went on your nomination!
First of all congratulations! I'm glad we got you at the Lasker awards first! Secondly, you, I am sure would be disappointed if I did not remind you of the very important nuclear medicine programs in your Department.
You have been such a bright light for other medical research, nuclear medicine research is virtually unknown outside of DOE but critically important to all of our efforts to fight disease and disability. It is truly a peaceful use of the atom.
I am sure you are surrounded with so many problems, but you may find that the work DOE is doing in medicine is a refreshing respite.
Our very, very best!
Sincerely,
Mary Lasker
