John E. Fogarty visiting a Public Library Services bookmobile in Rhode Island
Date:
27 July 1960
Description:
Elizabeth Myer, Director of Public Library Services in Rural Areas in Rhode Island, was one of the librarians who convinced Fogarty to support libraries. She did this partly by inviting him to ride along on the bookmobile for a day, so that he could see how it worked and talk with patrons.
