This abstract for the Society for Neurobiology details work on finding homologs for Drosophila homeobox genes using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique. PCR is used to amplify the number of copies of a specific region of DNA in order to produce enough DNA to be adequately tested. Major findings from early work with mouse homeobox are included..
