- Description:
- Franklin's lab at Birkbeck College (photographed shortly after her death) was on the fifth floor of a bomb-damaged eighteenth-century townhouse in Torrington Square, in the former maid's quarters. Her x-ray equipment was in the basement, in what had been the kitchen. The building has since been torn down.
