Andrew Szent-Gyorgyi is a younger cousin of Albert Szent-Gyorgyi. He earned his MD from the University of Budapest in 1947 and emigrated to the United States in 1948. He and his wife Eve worked in Albert's laboratory from 1948 to 1962, when Andrew accepted a position at Dartmouth Medical School. In 1966 he moved to the Biology Department at Brandeis University, where he continued a productive career in muscle research.. In this interview, Dr. Szent-Gyorgyi talks about Albert's family background and early career in Hungary, conditions in Budapest during and after World War II, and the pioneering work in muscle research that was done at Woods Hole. He also describes Albert's values, his sense of humor, and his passionate commitment to science and scientific research, along with the evolution of his research interests..
