In Luria's autobiography, he reported, "Since childhood I have been an avid reader, and was a reasonably selective one by the age of twenty, rather late for a well-educated European youth." As advisor to graduate students in MIT's biology department, Luria conducted a Sunday evening literary seminar for first-year students. He intended to encourage his students "to read broadly and purposefully even after entering graduate school in science." This is the reading list for the 1966-1967 seminar and includes some of Luria's notes and questions on the literature.. NOTE: Some of the text on the last page is unreadable in the original.
